School

Well another school year is creeping up on me. Last year went by so fast and Kendon was only in school 3 hours a day. This year will be an all day thing, and I think it is going to be harder on me than it is on him.
He is excited about eating school lunch, although I am not sure his eating likes and dislikes will always match with the daily menu, but we will deal with that as we go.
Before the school year starts though, I just want to mention Kendon's Kindergarten teacher. In all honesty, I don't think we would have made it through the year without her. The first time Kendon heard her name, he knew he had a friend. Her name is Mrs. Wheeler and he would always say "her name is like my favorite thing, 4 wheelers". She was always kind and loving, but with that extra firmness that Kendon needed.
Kendon's school year was filled with bumps, crashes and bee stings, but no matter what he wanted to stay at school with his teacher. Even when he fell and got major road rash on his face, they called and said "we want to warn you, it looks bad, but he wants to stay", so he did.
There were someday's that were just bad ones, that he just didn't want to go, but she was always there. She would take him in her arms and tell him that it was ok to have a bad day, but that she needed him in school with her. And then she would have a tickle war with him, and then everything was right for him.
I am almost certain Mrs. Wheeler will never read this, but hopefully writting down these words will send her love and good Karma. We love her and are grateful for her patience.
The importance of a good teacher is important, but untill I became a mother I didn't realize how much. So here is to a new year and hopefully a wonderful teacher experience.
